Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 14, 2026
Welcome to Tenor. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tenor mobile application.
By downloading, installing, or using Tenor, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Definitions
- "Application" or "Service" means the Tenor mobile app.
- "Company", "we", "us", or "our" means Brihat Sharma, the developer of Tenor, based in India.
- "You" means the individual using the Service.
- "Application Store" means the Google Play Store, through which the Service is distributed.
- "Device" means any device used to access the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Tenor. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly permit use by anyone under 18 — see our Privacy Policy for more.
3. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Tenor on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You agree not to:
- Misuse the application or use it for illegal or fraudulent purposes
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app, except where applicable law expressly permits it
- Interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the app
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any subscription, paywall, or licensing mechanism
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute the app or its content for commercial purposes without our written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
4. Ownership
Tenor, including its software, branding, graphics, icons, logos, and design, is owned by the Company. Using the app does not transfer any ownership or intellectual property rights to you.
5. Your Data
You retain full ownership of all habit data you create in Tenor. You're responsible for maintaining your own backups if this data is important to you.
Tenor stores your data locally on your device unless you choose to enable Google Drive Backup, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Premium Subscriptions
Some features are available only through Tenor Premium.
- Subscriptions are billed through Google Play Billing, and prices are shown before purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled through your Google Play account before the renewal date.
- Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies — we don't process refunds directly.
7. Lifetime Purchases
If offered, a lifetime purchase grants access to Tenor Premium features for as long as the Tenor application continues to be offered and supported, subject to Section 8 below. "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the app and its availability — not a guarantee of perpetual access regardless of circumstances.
We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or remove specific features — including features covered by a lifetime purchase — for legal, security, technical, or business reasons. If we discontinue the app entirely, lifetime licenses will end along with it, and no refund will be owed for the discontinued portion, except as required by law.
8. Google Drive Backup
Google Drive Backup is optional and depends on Google Drive's availability, your Google account, your internet connection, and your device. We work to make backups reliable, but we can't guarantee that every backup or restore will succeed — we recommend checking that a recent backup exists before switching devices or uninstalling the app.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
Tenor relies on third-party services — including Google Play, RevenueCat, and Google Drive — to operate certain features, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't control these services and aren't responsible for their availability, content, or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Availability and Changes to the App
We aim to keep Tenor available and working properly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Features may be changed, improved, or discontinued over time, with or without notice, at our discretion.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
Tenor is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of habit data, missed reminders, lost productivity, or lost profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Tenor.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable law, the Company's total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of: the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹2,000.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability arising from our own fraud or willful misconduct.
You're encouraged to maintain your own backups of any data that's important to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the Company harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using Tenor at any time by uninstalling the app.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, or discontinue the app or any feature at our discretion, with or without notice.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
If you have a concern or dispute about the Service, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If we can't resolve it that way, any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.
16. General Provisions
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be interpreted to best achieve its original intent.
- Waiver. Our failure to enforce a right or provision won't be treated as a waiver of that right or provision.
- Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Service, and supersede any prior agreements.
- Assignment. We may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to give at least 30 days' notice before the new terms take effect, such as through an in-app notification. Minor changes take effect as soon as they're posted.
Continued use of Tenor after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you don't agree, please stop using the app.
